Hello from Sardinia! I’ve so thoroughly luxuriated in our stay here at Casa Stones, where the real world has melted away and time has somehow seemed to expand, each day a fully stretched elastic band of sunshine. Between icy glasses of wine and yet another delicious meal, I’ve been tearing through Gabrielle Hamilton’s brilliant memoir, Blood, Bones & Butter, covering the pages in splashes of seawater, sprays of tanning oil, and thousands of sweaty fingerprints, my appetite knowing no limit.
Updated to add that, upon returning from Sardinia, I binged the Gabrielle Hamilton episodes of The Mind of a Chef and was just as charmed by her off the page as on. She comes across as a truly authentic and complicated person and is someone I’d absolutely be transfixed by at a dinner party and then obsessively stalk until I made her my friend or she got a restraining order against me. 🙃
